A pro-government mob of Syrians attacked the U.S Embassy in Syria recently. Robert Ford, U.S Ambassador to Syria has often spoken out against the Syrian government. He caused the contempt by the government for him to form when, in July, he traveled to the city of Hama and supported people protesting against their government. Hilary Clinton recently called the incident "inexcusable" and that something like this never should have happened. I personally believe that Ford could have prevented some of the negative tension surrounding him if he had not gone to Hama and openly supported the protesters.

Question of the week #1 answer
I am most closely aligned with the New-Modern party (independent party). This is probably because I have been raised in a very middle-of-the-road family. My dad is independent with slight inclinations towards the republican party and my mom is independent with inclinations towards the democratic party. Their views have inadvertently rubbed off onto me. Also, it just seems unnecessary and naive to me for someone to blindly follow support the ideas of one political party without seeing all the view points of the issues at hand.
